Leiber YeaFi® products are a unique, unmistakable and extraordinary combination of brewers’ yeast and functional fibre carriers. The brewers’ yeast is sprayed onto the fibre carrier in liquid form and dried without contact. This gentle process protects the product from demixing after handling and transport, removes the hygroscopic properties of the brewers’ yeast and increases its palatability.

We recommend the following for use in pig feeds:

Leiber YeaFi® BT: inactivated brewers’ yeast bound to spent grains – successful and traditionally good.

Leiber YeaFi® BM: inactivated brewers’ yeast bound to malt germs – with a coarse structure and rich in lignin.

In addition, Leiber YeaFi® products are also available with other fibre carriers, e.g. wheat bran or spent grains with beet pulp.
All of these are also available as finely ground variants.

Brewers’ yeast is produced in breweries in compliance with strict food guidelines and contains numerous valuable, bioavailable active ingredients and nutrients. Only real brewers’ yeasts contain the polyphenols of hops, as these are added during the brewing process. They produce additional antioxidant and bacteriostatic effects and thus complement the well-known beneficial nutritional properties of brewers’ yeast.

CeFi® pro

Does a pig good and tastes good.

CeFi® pro combines in one product the positive effects of beta-glucans and mannan oligosaccharides from the cell wall with the natural components of the cell interior: peptides, free amino acids and nucleotides.

 

CeFi® pro yeast autolysate has a pleasant taste for pigs and is already well received by piglets. CeFi® pro is therefore used in young-animal feeds and in phases of high growth performance or regeneration to stabilise the intestinal flora.

Biolex® MB40

Prebiotic against pathogens.

Biolex® MB40 creates a hostile environment for pathogenic germs, in which they are inhibited in a natural way. Biolex® MB40 consists of cell walls of brewers’ yeast (100% Saccharomyces cerevisiae), obtained by centrifugation after biotechnological disruption of yeast cells. During this process, mannan oligosaccharides (MOS) and beta-glucans accumulate and specifically active segments of the cell wall are released. Mannan oligosaccharides (MOS) have specific surface receptors that can bind mannose-sensitive Salmonella and E. coli and are also carbohydrates that are fermented by the intestinal flora. In addition, the glucans of the yeast cell wall have an immune-stimulating effect and promote the animals’ immune system.

Leiber® Beta-S

Leiber® Beta-S activates animals’ immune system in a particularly effective way: the immune system reacts to the structure of the beta-glucan molecules and is put into an active state, but without being over-stimulated.

 

Leiber® Beta-S consists of highly purified β-1,3-1,6-glucan molecules from the cell wall of brewers’ yeast (100% Saccharomyces cerevisiae). A particularly gentle process developed by Leiber detaches the beta-glucans from the cell wall complex of brewers’ yeast. The native structure of the molecules and their biological activity are retained – unlike in conventional processes.

  1. Uptake of ß-glucans from the gut lumen via M cells and phagocytosis by macrophages (or also via dendritic cells)
  2. Activation of macrophages increases phagocytosis and the release of reactive oxygen and nitrogen radicals (oxidative burst), antimicrobial peptides and lysozyme increased combat of pathogens
  3. Release of cytokines and chemokines recruits more immune cells. Macrophages present antigenic structures to T and B cells, causing B cells to subsequently produce antibodies
  4. Activated macrophages migrate to organs of the immune system where they break down the ß-glucans into smaller fragments
  5. In the organs of the immune system (bone marrow, spleen and lymph nodes), these ß-glucan fragments and cytokines are released, activating other immune cells such as granulocytes and NK and T cells
