Leiber Animal Feed develops and produces sustainable brewers’ yeast products that help you improve the health and productivity of your livestock in the long term. Leiber Brewers’ Yeast – ‘new’ since 1954! Products change and new products are always being added. There are new markets, new requirements, framework conditions change… That’s all good! Leiber has grown steadily to meet these challenges and that’s probably precisely why it is now more successful than ever. Other things, however, have stayed the same… and that’s a good thing too: all Leiber Brewers’ Yeast products have always stood for healthy quality. The highest standards apply to brewers’ yeast, both during production in breweries and during refinement by Leiber itself. Long before sustainability became a buzzword, Leiber already lived by the maxim ‘There’s no such thing as waste; there are only valuable secondary streams’.

Brewers’ yeast

Leiber Brewers’ Yeast is produced in breweries in compliance with strict food guidelines and is rich in many valuable, bioavailable active ingredients and nutrients. Only real brewers’ yeasts contain the polyphenols of hops, which are added during the brewing process. They produce additional antioxidant and bacteriostatic effects and thus complement the well-known beneficial nutritional properties of brewers’ yeast.

Brewers’ yeast fibre products

Leiber YeaFi® – almost a classic as a brand! Leiber YeaFi® products are unique combinations of brewers’ yeast and functional fibre carriers. The brewers’ yeast is sprayed onto the fibre carrier in liquid form and dried without contact. This gentle process protects the product from demixing after handling and transport, removes the hygroscopic properties of the brewers’ yeast and increases its palatability.

Autolysate

CeFi® pro combines in one product the positive effects of beta-glucans and mannan oligosaccharides from the cell wall with the natural components of the cell interior, peptides, free amino acids and nucleotides. This combination was only made possible by an autolysis process specially developed by Leiber for this purpose.

Biolex® MB40 consists of cell walls of brewers’ yeast (100% Saccharomyces cerevisiae), obtained by centrifugation after biotechnological disruption of yeast cells. During this process, mannan oligosaccharides (MOS) and beta-glucans accumulate and specifically active segments of the cell wall

Beta glucans

Leiber® Beta-S consists of highly pure β-1,3-1,6-glucan molecules from the cell wall of brewers’ yeast (100% Saccharomyces cerevisiae). A particularly gentle process developed by Leiber releases the beta-glucans from the cell wall complex of brewers’ yeast. The native structure of the molecules and thus their biological activity are retained much better with this special process than in conventional methods.

Yeast extracts

In a process specially developed by Leiber, the soluble cell interior, the yeast extract, is released and gently separated from the yeast cell wall – so the individual components can develop their respective effects optimally.

Immune system

Our highly purified beta-glucans offer an exceptional solution to boost animals’ immune systems and thus support their natural defences. Environmental conditions can’t be optimal all the time, meaning that pathogens or toxins, for example, can find places to attack – with corresponding detrimental effects on animals’ health. The consequences can be malaise, performance dips or serious disease. Supporting animals’ immune system is therefore the best protection against negative environmental impacts.

The prebiotic ingredients in Leiber inactivated yeast products serve as a substrate for the intestinal microbiome, thus effectively influencing the animal’s digestive and absorption processes.
This is beneficial to gut health. Intestinal protection is active immune protection, because approx. 70% of immune cells are located in the lymphatic intestinal tissue (GALT – gut-associated lymphoid tissue).
The role of Leiber Brewers’ Yeast products in strengthening gut health is extremely important, since the digestive tract of animals is considered to be one of the main routes of infection.
